
Founded by Otto Halter in 1907, a baker and confectioner and Albert Schillig, businessman and sales representative. They began cooking the candies on an open fire without machines. Today the latest technology is used for the fully automatic production of high-quality sugar free hard candies based on Isomalt. Isomalt is made from beet sugar. In a two step process, the sugar components glucose and fructose are used to make ISOMALT which looks like sugar and tastes like sugar but only has half the calories of sugar. ISOMALT is also tooth friendly because it does not promote dental cavities and has a very low glycemic index.
